I am currently studying for an MSc in Coaching Psychology with the University of Chichester, with a view to becoming a Chartered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
To fulfil my course requirements, I need to complete 80 hours’ supervised coaching over the course of the next two years. I am therefore offering a limited number of free coaching sessions (up to 8) to suitable applicants. To qualify, you need to be:
- Aged 18 or over and based in the UK
- Willing to undertake a short pre-coaching process to determine whether coaching is right for you
What is Coaching?
The main aim of Coaching is to help you to clarify your personal and / or professional goals or direction and to find your own solutions and way forward. A fundamental principle of coaching is that you are the expert on your own life, and you know the best way forward for you, even if that is not yet clear. Coaching is a collaborative process in which you are an active participant; my role as a coach is not to impart knowledge or give you the answers, but to ask effective questions which move you forward in the direction of your goals. Coaching provides a non-judgmental, supportive space in which you can explore, be challenged and make steps towards change.
What is Coaching Psychology?
Coaching psychology draws on a range of psychological domains, including cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology and biological psychology. A broad and solid understanding of these areas guides my coaching questions in a way which helps raise your self-awareness and make effective changes. In addition, any tools or interventions I may offer are evidence-based.
What to expect
If you are interested in free coaching, please first register your interest. If I have availability for you, I will be in touch to arrange a short introductory session on Zoom. The purpose of this call is for us to discuss the the general area you want to work on and to decide whether coaching is the right way forward for you at this time. If we decide to proceed, we will agree an initial number of sessions. To begin with, the sessions are generally 60 minutes long and are likely to take place weekly or fortnightly.
